Let’s explore the songs that are part of our personal soundtracks. Using the imagery of old cassette tapes as our foundation, we’ll spend time creating a visual representation of the songs that shaped us, that defined seasons of our lives and that we carry with us.

Whatever your genre of music, the music you love says something about you. Press “play” on this one and lets have a bit of fun together.

No artistic experience necessary to participate but you do need access to some basic supplies.

WHEN: Friday, April 10 at 11:00AM Eastern

This workshop will last approx. 90 minutes, with a brief teaching by Kris, studio time, and a concluding group discussion.

REQUIRED & SUGGESTED MATERIALS:

  • Glue stick

  • Gelli Plate & brayer*

  • Old Cassette Tape (and case/insert—get this froma thrift store or use one you don’t care care about)*

  • Acrylic Paints *

  • Mixed media or print paper for pulling prints*

  • Markers/colored pencils

  • Scissors

  • Canvas or Art Journal/Mixed Media Paper (whatever surface you’d like to work on)

  • Charcoal

  • Magazines/books/collage materials for mixed media*

    All items with the (*) are necessary for this workshop.

This workshop is part of The Creative Refinery, a Therapeutic Art’s practice facilitated by Kris Camealy, a certified Therapeutic Arts practitioner and Creative coach. The Creative Refinery is rooted in traditional Christian beliefs and practices, including prayer and meditation on Scripture. You do not have to identify as a Christian in order to participate.

*This workshop is taught live, online in my (Kris Camealy) private Zoom room. Registrants will receive a link to join the Zoom room 24 hours before the workshop. This workshop is non-refundable, regardless of circumstances. Recordings of the workshop will be made available to registered attendees, however, to get the most out of the experience, participants are strongly encouraged to attend live. In the event that I have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, the workshop will be rescheduled and registered attendees will be notified of cancelation and reschedule date via email.
